Our environmental initiatives
Nihon Hard Metal Co., Ltd. has acquired ISO 14001 accreditation.
We are conducting our environmental conservation activities under the slogan “Our factories are friendly to the earth and our environmental conservation efforts are an everlasting commitment.”
Basic Environmental Philosophy
Our main factory and our second Kyushu factory (hereinafter “our factories”) are located in lush green environments and as a company manufacturing high-quality cemented carbide materials, we contribute to the social and financial activities of society. Our slogan is “Our factories are friendly to the earth and our environmental conservation efforts are an everlasting commitment.”
Basic Environmental Policy
- Cemented carbide is a boon to society and to make sure it remains so, we have set the following goals for all stages of cemented carbide from design, development and manufacture to disposal.
- Reduce electricity use through aggressive energy conservation
- Practice the 4Rs to prevent the depletion of resources and reduce industrial waste
- Proactively design and develop products considerate to the environment
- Implement continuous improvement and prevent pollution.
- Note that our conservation activities are not limited to the compliance with environmental laws and regulations and other requirements, but performed to control any company activity that may have an environmental impact.
- Be aware of the environmental aspects of our activities and make an assessment that can be used to set and implement environmental objectives, goals and plans.
Review these assessments and activities regularly. - Implement this environmental policy according to an environmental management system. Make it known to all employees and enable all interested parties to obtain information on it.
